THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State volleyball team will finish the 2007 season this weekend on the road against Central Arkansas and Northwestern St and look to end a season long 11 game losing streak.

The Colonels will face a Central Arkansas team today that sits at 8-6 in conference, a game behind McNeese for second in the division. In their last outing, the Sugar Bears defeated the Cowgirls in Lake Charles after losing three conference contests on the road.

The Lady Demons was the only team to push the Colonels into five matches this season, as Northwestern State rallied from two sets down and four points from defeat to sweep the last three sets and defeat the Colonels in Thibodaux. The Lady Demons sit at 4-10 in the Southland and need at least two more wins against Southeastern today and Nicholls tomorrow, along with some help to assure a spot in the conference tournament.

This weekend will mark the final games for seniors Kindra Halverson, Casey Wirwille and Aaliyah Muhammad, who were all honored in last weekend's final two home games at Stopher Gym.
