BOURGEOIS, DOCKREY LEAD COLONELS AT LSU RELAYS

BATON ROUGE, La. - Sophomore javelin thrower Leslie Bourgeois and freshman high jumper Chelsea Dockrey finished in second place in their respective events, to lead the Colonels at the LSU Relays on Friday and Saturday.

After a regional qualifying toss last week, Bourgeois continued to impress, as had a toss of 151-03.

Dockrey, who had recently set a Nicholls record in the high jump, set a new personal best with a jump of 5-05.75.

Jarina Guilbeau moved into fifth place all-time at Nicholls with a 100-meter hurdles time of 16.11 (20th place), while Rahjanaye Bailey closely follows in sixth place with a time of 16.33 (21st place).

The Colonels' 4X100-meter relay team and 4X400-meter relay team each moved into first place in the school record books with times of 49.55 (prelims) and 3:57.55, respectively. The 4X100 relay team finals time of 50.95 placed them in seventh place in the event.

The 4X200-meter relay team moved into second place on the all-time list as their time of 1:45.77 gave them an eighth place finish in the event.

Nicholls' distance medley team's time of 13:20.84 gave them fifth place finish in the event, and moved them into fourth place all-time in school history.

Other Colonel performers included: Lauren Bazunu (100-meter dash, 13.18, 25th), Bailey (400-meter hurdles, 1:11.24, ninth) and Keri Fremin (pole vault, 9-06.25, fifth).

The Colonels return to action on March 29-30 at the LSU Combined Events.
