March 3, 2007 MOBILE, Ala. - Seven different athletes moved into the Nicholls all-time top five list, as the Nicholls Colonels opened the 2007 Outdoor Track and Field season at the Premier Invitational on the campus of South Alabama.
LaNation McCray moved into third place at Nicholls for a time of 59.58 in the 400-meter dash. She finished the event in third place.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Rahjanaye Bailey and Jarina Guilbeau took top honors finishing in first and second place, respectively. Bailey's time of 15.92 placed her in third place all-time at Nicholls, while Guilbeau's time of 16.01 moved her into fourth place.
Michaela Guidry's time of 20:27.22 in the 5000-meter run placed gave her the third place spot for the event, while also moving her into fifth place in the Nicholls record books.
Keri Fremin, who took third place in the pole vault, moved into third place on the all-time list with a throw of 8-08.25.
Sabrina Henkes and Chelsea Dockrey also made their way into the Nicholls record books, appearing at the No. 2 spot in their respective events. Henkes took sixth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a run of 1:08.79, while Dockrey's high jump of 5-03.75, gave her a third place finish.
Other Colonel performers included: Dominique Washington (200-meter dash, 27.66, 12th; long jump, 16-10.00, sixth), Latasha Bishop (400-meter dash, 1:04.15, seventh), Nicoya Hutcherson (400-meter dash, 1:05.28, ninth), Lauren Bazunu (400-meter dash, 1:06.92, 10th), Eunice Jepkogei (1500-meter run, 5:15.29, fifth), Charlotte Everhardt (5000-meter run, 20:45.20, fourth), Guilbeau (400-meter hurdles, 1:13.52, seventh), Bailey (400-meter hurdles, 1:15.06, eighth) and Henkes (high jump, 4-10.25, seventh).
Nicholls returns to action on Saturday as they participate in the Southern Miss Invite in Hattiesburg, Miss.
