January 19, 2007 HOUSTON, Tex. - The Nicholls Indoor Track and Field team continues to impress as two school records were either tied or broken, on Friday, at the Leonard Hilton Memorial in Yeoman Field House.
Katrina Carter, who broke two school records in last week's Purple Tiger Invite, set a new personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.68. Carter moved into second place all-time at Nicholls with a time of 1:00.55 (13th place finish) in the 400-meter dash.
Rahjanaye Bailey set a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles, as she finished with a time of 9.69, while Chelsea Dockrey's high jump of 5-02.25 tied the Nicholls record. Dockrey finished sixth in the event.
Other finishers for the Colonels included Dominique Bailey (200-meter dash, 28.80, 45th; long jump, 16-03.75, eighth), Bailey (200-meter dash, 29.33, 47th), Nicoya Hutcherson (400-meter dash, 1:03.32, 30th), Latasha Bishop (400-meter dash, 1:04.25, 35th) and Eunice Jepkogei (5,000-mile run, 20:11.65, 21st).
Nicholls will return to action on Friday when they participate in the Bayou Bengal Invite in Baton Rouge.
