THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels fell to Texas State on Saturday by the score of 4-3 to conclude their Southland Conference schedule this season.

"We played extremely hard and it showed throughout the match," said head coach Jim Hunter. "I am very proud of my team in how hard they worked this season, and the significant improvements they have made along the way."

The Colonels (9-9, 4-6) got off to a good start in the match by posting wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point over the Bobcats (11-6, 7-3). The tandem of senior Celine Stenger and freshman Karlijn Sissingh took down the Bobcats' Lainy Chafitz and Rabea Hartmann 8-6, while senior Adeline Vallet and freshman Sara Hanesch defeated Ashley Ellis and Andrea Giraldo.

Stenger's success in doubles carried over into singles as she defeated Texas State's Ellis 6-2, 6-2. The only other win in singles play came from Sissingh who defeated the Bobcats' Stephanie Muller 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.
