March 27, 2007

THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels Women's Tennis team fell 5-2 to Lamar on Sunday and 6-1 to defending Southland Conference Champion Southeastern La. on Tuesday at the Colonels' Tennis Complex.

"It was good to win the No.2 doubles against Lamar," said head coach Jim Hunter. "Southeastern La. just has a really good team, and showed us today why they won the Southland Conference last year."

The Colonels (6-7, 3-4) won the No.2 doubles against the Cardinals in their match on Sunday. In that match it was senior Adeline Vallet and freshman Sara Hanesch going the distance to win 8-6 over Maria Gutierrez and Kaltrina Harbuzi of Lamar.
