Cindy Piper enters her fifth season at the helm of the women's soccer program at Nicholls State University. Piper made her mark on the program in her first season, leading the Colonels to a 3-13-3 ledger with a 2-7-3 mark in Southland Conference play which qualified the squad for its first-ever Southland Conference Tournament appearance. In four seasons as head coach, Piper has amassed a record of 11-57-5. Before arriving at Nicholls, the Greensboro, N.C., native spent two years as head coach at Barton Community College (Kan.) she led the Cougars to a program-best 10-8-4 mark in 2003. During her time at Barton, Piper also served the role of assistant coach at Great Bend High School. Piper, a stand-out performer at Southeast Guilford High School in Greensboro, N.C., was a midfielder at Gardner-Webb for three seasons before finishing her collegiate career at Hardin-Simmons (D-III). While at Hardin-Simmons, Piper was named to the ASC West All-Conference team for her performance. Piper received her bachelor of science in sports management with a minor in coaching from Gardner-Webb in 2001. She is single and resides in Thibodaux. |
