March 27, 2007 HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - The Nicholls women's golf team fired a 300 in Tuesday's final round, to finish in 14th place at the Arkansas-Little Rock/North Texas Golf Classic at the Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark.
Tournament co-host Arkansas-Little Rock took home team honors, carding an 889, while Middle Tennessee State (902), Texas El-Paso (903), Sam Houston State (904) and Oral Roberts (909) round out the top five.
Florida International (911) came in at the sixth spot, as McNeese State and Missouri State tied for seventh place with 914s. Wichita State and Toledo each shot 925 to tie for ninth place, while North Texas (927), Texas State (928), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (939) and Nicholls (947) and Arkansas State (948) came in at Nos. 11-15, respectively.
Texas-Pan American (969) and UMKC (994) fill out the remaining 17-team tournament field.
Daniele Dunlop led all Lady Colonels golfers, as she tied for 21st place with a 229. Theunette Van der Walt (232) tied for 32nd place, while Natalie Robinson (237) tied for the 52nd spot, Emiley Patton (252) finished in 76th place and Jessica Marquart (255) tied for 80th place.
The Nicholls women's golf team will end their 2007 season on April 9-11 when they take part in the Southland Conference Championships at the Ram Rock Golf Course in Horshoe Bay, Texas.
