LADY COLONELS FINISH IN 17TH AT LADY JAGUAR INVITATIONAL

MOBILE, Ala. - The Nicholls women's golf team took 17th place at the Lady Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday, at the Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.

Middle Tennessee State took home the tournament crown after shooting a 591, while Jacksonville State finished as runners-up with a 605. Lamar and Winthrop tied for third place with 606s, as Belmont wrapped up the top five with 609.

Florida Atlantic carded a 610 for sixth place. Arkansas State and McNeese each shot a 614 to tie for the seventh spot. Tournament-host South Alabama (615), Louisiana-Monroe (618) and UAB (619) round out at Nos. 9-11, respectively.

Southern Miss, Samford and Western Carolina each shot a 623 to tie for 12th place, as Troy (624), Mercer (625), Nicholls (637) and Austin Peay State (639) closely follow at Nos. 15-18.

Centenary (641) and Jackson State (641) fill out the remaining tournament field tied for 19th place.

Middle Tennessee State's Taryn Durham fired a final round 68, to finish atop the individual leaderboard with a tournament-total 142, as Malin Fryk of Western Carolina finished in second with a 144. Three other golfers tied for third place with 145s.

Theunette Van der Walt led all Lady Colonels with a 154 to tie for 34th place. Natalie Robinson (158) tied for 58th place, followed by Daniele Dunlop (160) tied for the 71st spot, Jessica Marquart (166) tied for 90th, and Emiley Patton (169), tied for 96th place.

Nicholls returns to action on March 20-21, when they participate in Samford University's Lady Bulldog Intercollegiate, at the Timberline Golf Course in Calera, Ala.
