MONROE, La. - The Nicholls Lady Colonels golf team fired a 337 in the final round of the ULM Fred Marx Invitational on Tuesday to earn 12th place in the field of 16 held at Bayou Desiard Country Club. Elin Andersson of South Alabama claimed the top individual award after firing a 221, while Jennifer Heinz of Sam Houston State (222), Angela Drane of Louisiana-Monroe (224), Adrian Sportsman of Arkansas State (225) and Lauren Hassell of Wichita State (226) round out the top five. Arkansas State took the over team award with a 54-hole total of 917, while South Alabama (922), Central Arkansas (928), Samford University (928), Jacksonville State (928), Sam Houston State (933), Louisiana-Monroe (938), Wichita State (942), Eastern Kentucky (950), Texas-Pan American (952), McNeese State (961), Nicholls (963), Troy (971), Centenary College (975), Henderson State (1018) and Houston Baptist (1032) round out the field of 16. Theunette Van der Walt (236 - 30) led the Lady Colonels, while other Nicholls golfers included Daniele Dunlop (238 - T31), Elyse Kinley (242 - T50), Emiley Patton (257 - T75) and Jessica Marquart (88 -T50). The Lady Colonels will take three weeks off before playing host at the Lady Colonel Intercollegiate on Oct. 22-23 at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, La. |
