March 19, 2007 THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls and Southern battled it out on the hard top in tennis last Friday, and the Colonels emerged victorious with a 5-2 defeat of the Jaguars to improve to 4-7 overall and 3-2 when playing at Nicholls.
"It was a great win for us, and we worked hard as a team to get it," said head coach Jim Hunter. "I know that Phenyo was excited to see his brother and play against him in the match."
Sophomore Phenyo Matong squared off against his brother Onkabetse Matong in doubles and singles, and prevailed in both.
