FRISCO, Tex. - Competing in the first tournament of the season, sophomore golfer Marty Reed was named the Southland Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, announced the league office Wednesday afternoon.

A native of DeRidder, La., Reed tied for 33rd place at the Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah, carding a 145 for the two-day tournament. Reed shot two-under par 70, on the first day and followed with 75 on day two, to complete the tournament with a stroke average of 72.5.
