MEN'S GOLF TIES FOR 13TH PLACE AT PAT HICKS INVITATIONAL

ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Colonels' golf team shot a 304 in the final round of the Pat Hicks Invitational to finish tied for 13th place at the Sun Brook Golf Course in St. George, Utah.

Tournament-host Southern Utah finished atop the team leaderboard with a 562, followed by Denver (565), Oral Roberts (570), Utah (575) and Colorado State (576) to round out the top five.

Washington State and Boise State tied for the sixth spot with a 577, while Dixie State Community College (579), Nevada (580) and Jacksonville (588) fill out the top 10.

Grand Canyon (589) and San Francisco (590) finished in 11th and 12th place, respectively, while Nicholls and Portland tied for the 13th spot with a 596. Utah State (597) Utah Valley State (598), McNeese State (605) and Idaho State (615) round out the remaining 18-team field.

After each shooting a 135, Colorado State's Aaron Weston defeated Jacksonville's Duncan Stewart in a playoff to take home the individual crown, while Nic Van Vuuren of Utah Valley State finished in third place, carding a 136.

Marty Reed led all Nicholls golfers tying for 33rd place with a 145. He was followed by Donny Schmitt (149), tied for 53rd place, James Terrebonne (151), tied for 71st, Brandon Henry (152), tied for the 76th spot, and Nat Bhanthumachinda (155), tied for 85th place.

The Colonels return to action on February 26-27 when they participate in the Birmingham Southern Spring Invitational, held at the Oxmoor Valley Golf Course in Birmingham, Ala.
