MEN'S GOLF TIED FOR 10TH AFTER DAY ONE OF PAT HICKS INVITE

ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Nicholls men's golf team shot a 292 on the first day of the Pat Hicks Invitational, to head into Tuesday's final round at the Sun Brook Golf Course tied for 10th place.

Tournament-host Southern Utah leads the 18-team field after carding a 282, followed by the University of Denver with a 286. Washington State, Dixie State Community College, San Francisco and Oral Roberts all tied for third place with a 287, while Nevada, Grand Canyon and Utah tied for the seventh spot with a 290.

Nicholls, Jacksonville State and Utah State each carded a 292 to tie for 10th place, as Colorado State (297) and Portland (298) are currently in 13th and 14th place, respectively.

Boise State and McNeese State tied for the 15th spot with a 299, while Utah Valley State (301) and Idaho State (303) round out the remaining field at Nos. 17 and 18.

Donald Zaruba III of Grand Canyon, Jacksonville State's Duncan Stewart, Nic Van Vuuren of Utah Valley State and Colorado State's Bryce Hanstad each shot a 67 to tie atop the individual leader board. Nevada's Chase Cooper and Jared Becher are tied for fifth place with 69s.

Marty Reed currently leads all Colonel golfers in a tie for ninth with a 70, followed by Brandon Henry (73), tied for 42nd place and James Terrebonne (74) tied for 55th. Donny Schmitt (75) is closely behind, tied for 60th place, while Nat Bhanthumachinda (77) is currently tied for the 76th spot.
