COLONELS IN FOURTH AT MOE O'BRIEN MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

LAKE CHARLES, La. - The Nicholls Colonels men's golf team, led by Donny Schmidt's 148, is currently in fourth place at the Moe O'Brien Memorial Tournament at Gray Plantation in Lake Charles, La.

Tournament host, McNeese State holds the top spot with a 581, followed by UNO (598) and Stephen F. Austin (601) at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively. Stephen F. Austin is in fourth with a 601, while Nicholls (603), Central Arkansas (617), Texas State (620) and Centenary (645) round out the remaining tournament field.

McNeese State's Sugmundur Masson is atop the individual leader boards with a 138. Stephen F. Austin Chad Spencer and New Orleans' Jose Toledo follow with a 141. Five golfers, including Schmidt, are tied for fourth place.

Other Colonel golfers include Marty Reed (151), Nat Bhanthumachinda (152), Justin Stoski (153) and James Terrebonne (161).

The tournament will conclude with 18 more holes tomorrow.
