As a junior (2008) - Led the team with 60 total tackles with 36 being solo... Had four tackles for a loss... Had two sacks... Registered one forced fumble and one interception... Best game came against Stephen F. Austin when he had 10 total tackles and one a interception returned for a touchdown. As a sophomore (2007) - Named to the All-SLC Second Team... Started and played in all 11 games at weak side linebacker... Recorded a total of 61 tackles with 39 of them being solo stops... Had 6.5 tackles for a loss to go along with one sack... Registered one pass breakup, one blocked kick and one fumble recovery... Made the most out of his first collegiate start at Division I-FBS Rice with a fumble recovery and a blocked punt that Nicholls recovered for a safety to go ahead 16-14 for good...
