THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels will be back on their home floor against the Warhawks this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for the first time in almost a month. The last time Nicholls was in Stopher Gym was on November 13 when they defeated Huston-Tillotson, 92-55. The Colonels (2-7) are coming off of a seven game road stint that started with Tulane on Nov.16 and ended at Alabama this past Saturday. The only game Nicholls won during that stretch was at the University of New Orleans (5-1) on Dec. 1 by the score of 75-60. The Privateers had previously defeated nationally ranked N.C. State and Tulane. The Warhawks (4-4) come into the contest having won their last three games, which includes a 72-67 overtime win at Iowa on Nov. 30. Their most recent victim was Rice on Dec.1 as they won 80-67 over the Conference USA member. Louisiana-Monroe bolsters three players averaging 10-plus points this season with Tony Hooper leading the way with 16.8 a game. Last year's non-conference meeting between the two schools took place in Monroe, La., and the Warhawks won 87-83. For the Colonels, Stefan Blaszczynski had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Louisiana-Monroe holds the all-time series lead 54-16. The last time the Colonels defeated the Warhawks was in the 2000-01 season when Nicholls won 79-66 in Stopher Gym. The game can be heard live on 105.9 FM KBZE, the flagship station for Colonel Sports, and also on 640 AM KTIB. All the play-by-play action will be by Brennan Matherne with pre-game airing at 6:15 p.m. CST.
