THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls will take to the road for their fifth consecutive non-conference game, but will do so closer to home this Wednesday when the Colonels travel to take on the LSU Tigers at 7 p.m.

The Colonels (1-5) are coming off of a three game stint in California against Cal, UC Davis, and St. Mary's. Nicholls lost all three contests in the Golden State with their closest game coming at UC Davis, where the Aggies prevailed with the 69-67 victory.

LSU (3-2) is playing their first game in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center since Wednesday Nov. 14, when they squeaked by McNeese State 78-74. The Tigers season opener against Southeastern La. also came down to the wire with LSU pulling away late for the 72-62 victory. The Colonels game against LSU will be the third of four non-conference games against the Southland Conference.

In last seasons match up between the Colonels and Tigers, senior Adonis Gray led Nicholls in scoring (10) and in rebounds (7), but it wasn't enough as the Colonels fell 96-42 in Baton Rouge, La. LSU was ranked No. 7 in the nation last season when Nicholls played them in their home opener, in which they dropped their 2005-06 Final Four banner.

Nicholls has never beaten the Tigers since the series began in the 1986-87 season, and are 0-13 against LSU. The closest game in the series was in the 1993-94 season when LSU beat Nicholls 95-90, and the most lopsided contest came in the 1991-92 campaign when the Tigers defeated the Colonels 123-61.

The game can be heard live on 105.9 FM KBZE locally, and on the internet at www.kbze.com. Other stations carrying the game include 640 AM KTIB. Brennan Matherne will have all the play-by-play action starting with pre-game at 6:45 p.m.
