COLONELS TO PLAY AT UC DAVIS ON WEDNESDAY

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The Colonels will continue their west coast tour with a bout against UC Davis on Wednesday November 21 at 9 p.m. CST in The Pavilion.

The Colonels (1-3) came within 12 points of the Golden Bears last time out on the hardwood on Monday, but fell 74-62 in the Haas Pavilion. Nicholls had the game within single digits until the 3:15 mark when the Pac-10 power started to pull away from the Colonels onto gaining the victory.

In the game, junior Ryan Bathie led all Colonel scorers with 17 points, while true freshman Anatoly Bose and sophomore Mitch Boyce came off the bench to combine for 23. Bose scored 13 while Boyce added 10 to lead Nicholls bench to 40 points to the Golden Bears three.

UC Davis is coming off of a 71-49 victory over UC Santa Cruz on Sunday evening to bring their season record to .500 at 2-2. Leading UC Davis in scoring so far this season is sophomore Shane Hanson with 14.5 points per game, and is the only Aggie to score in double figures in all four of UC Davis games. Other players standing out so far for the Aggies include junior Vince Oliver and freshman Mark Payne. Oliver is averaging 10.5 ppg, while Payne averages 8.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.0 steals per game thus far in the season.

The Aggies are coming off of a 5-23 season in 2006-07, and are a new member of the Big West Conference.
