SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE RELEASES PRESEASON POLLS AND PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

KATY, Tex. - The Southland Conference released their men's and women's preseason polls and their preseason all-conference teams today during Southland Conference Basketball Media Day in the Merrell Center, the site of the conference tournament. In the preseason polls, the men were picked sixth in the east division and eleventh overall by the coaches while the sports information directors predicted a fifth place finish in the east for the Colonels with a tenth place finish overall. The Lady Colonels were selected sixth in the east division along with a eleventh place finish overall by the coaches in the preseason poll, while the sports information directors picked Nicholls to finish fifth in the east and tenth overall. Both teams failed to place a member of their squads on the all-conference preseason teams. The releases from the Southland Conference are below.
