May 21, 2007 THIBODAUX, La. - Head coach J.P. Piper announced the signing of Anatoly Bose to a national letter of intent on Monday morning.
"We are thrilled to have Anatoly play for us," said head coach Piper. "He is a great athlete that performs well off the court in the classroom. He brings a strong work ethic to Nicholls, which was a big plus in doing our best to get him here."
Bose, a 6'6" 197 lbs. guard/forward, was born in Russia and moved to New York City by the time he was six before his family relocated to Sydney, Australia where he currently resides. He was named to the All-Australia High School squad in 2006 while averaging 22.5 points and 12.8 rebounds per contest in his senior campaign. For his efforts, his team voted him MVP his senior year.
Also, he was selected to play for the All-Australian Under-19 team in 2006, and received invites to the Nike Basketball Camp in Asia in 2007 and the Big Time Tournament in Los Angeles, CA in 2005.
An academic honor student in 2006, Bose will be one of five players on the team of foreign origins as he joins this years signing class of Josh Johnson, Bakari Lewis and Ben Martin.
