COLONELS TO PLAY FINAL GAME OF 2008



Senior Adonis Gray will be playing in his final game on Saturday

THIBODAUX, La. - When Nicholls and McNeese State tip-off at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Stopher Gym, it will not only be the final game of the season for the Colonels, but the last game for senior Adonis Gray.

Gray, the only senior on the 2008 roster, enters the game with 1,202 career points and 430 rebounds in his four year stint with Nicholls. The Thibodaux, La. native is averaging 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season.

The Colonels (9-21, 4-11) won this season's earlier match up 74-71 in overtime in Lake Charles, La. McNeese State (13-14, 7-8) holds the all-time series advantage 41-27, and will go on to the Southland Conference Tournament in Katy, Tex.

Leading Nicholls in scoring heading into Saturday's contest is junior Ryan Bathie with a 13.7 average to go along with 4.1 rebounds per game. Bathie enters the game with 204 career made three-pointers which ranks him fifth all-time in the SLC record books.

The only other Colonel averaging double-digits is true freshman Anatoly Bose with a 10.7 average and team best 4.8 rebounds per game. Bose is also shooting a league second best 84.3 percent (59-of-70) from the free throw line and a SLC freshman high 38.0 percent (43-of-114) from downtown heading into the season finale.
