THIBODAUX, La. - Head baseball coach Chip Durham announced the signing of 11 players to national letters of intent during the early signing period on Wednesday evening.

"I'm excited to have these fine young men join the Colonel program," said Durham. "All of them are very talented and coachable players."

All of Nicholls newest members will not suit up for the Colonels until the 2009 season.

Of the signees, four are from Louisiana with a pair of players coming by way of Delgado CC in New Orleans, La. All 11 players are listed below with their previous college and hometown along with stats from their junior college that they are presently attending.

Steven Gauthe

SS, Copiah Lincoln CC, Bell Rose, La/Assumption HS

*Hit for a .389 average last season with three homeruns while stealing 17 bases

*JUCO Rawlings Gold Glove winner

*First team all state in Mississippi Junior College

*First team all region

Josh Labiche

3B, Delgado CC, Reserve, La/Riverside Academy

*Helped lead Delgado to the 2007 Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, CO

Brandon Theriot

Adam Miley

Scott Moseley

Drew Snider

Eric Douglas

Chris Murrill

Chase Cleveland

Josh Costanza
