THIBODAUX, La. - In front of a good number of fans, the Prothro Pride defeated the Newman Ribeyes 9-8 in the opening game of the Fall World Series last night at Ray E. Didier Field. Brett Hoeflich drove in the winning run with a one out two run single in the bottom of the eighth inning. John Beauchamp earned the win in relief of Bryan Myers and Dale Dickerson picked up the save in the bottom of the ninth by striking out the side. Game two will be tonight at 6 p.m. at Didier Field, and admission is free and open to the public. Lance Dupois will get the start for the Ribeyes while true freshman Seth Webster will get the nod for Pride. Schedule and results are below. Game 1 - Thursday November 8, Pride def.
