BASEBALL TO BEGIN FALL WORLD SERIES TONIGHT



Chip Durham enters his third year at the helm for the Colonels

THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels will begin their 2007 Fall World Series on Thursday November 8 in the friendly confines of Ray E. Didier Field at 6 p.m. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to come and get a sneak preview of the 2008 baseball team.

The team has been split up into the Prothro Pride and the Newman Ribeyes with assistant coach Chris Prothro coaching the Pride and assistant coach Ricky Newman coaching the Ribeyes.

The Fall World series is a best of five due to renovations beginning on Didier Field late next week. The winner of the five game series will have a steak dinner after the series, while the loser will be forced to stomach pork and beans and beanie wienies.

The schedule for the five game series is below. Starting pitchers for tonight's match up will be Bryan Myers for the Pride and Ryan Harding for the Ribeyes.

Game 1 - Thursday November 8, 6 p.m.

Game 2 - Friday November 9, 6 p.m.

Game 3 - Saturday November 10, 9 a.m.

Game 4 - Sunday November 11, 2 p.m. (will be played no matter what)

Game 5 - Tuesday November 13, 6 p.m. (if necessary)
