THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State baseball team will host the second annual Colonel Baseball First Pitch Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the Plantation Ballroom of the Student Union on campus.

As the squad prepares for the upcoming season, First Pitch Celebration offers an opportunity for members of the Colonel baseball family and the community to get involved this season.

The night will include food and drinks, as well as a live band. A silent auction will be held, with all proceeds benefiting the Nicholls baseball program.

Those in attendance will be introduced to the new members of the coaching staff as well as the 2008 Colonel baseball team.

The evening will serve as an excellent opportunity to get a look inside the 2008 Nicholls Colonels baseball squad.

Tickets for the event cost $100 (one ticket admits two people) and can be purchased by contacting Seth Thibodeaux in the Colonel baseball office. The Colonels kick of the 2008 season on Friday, Feb. 22 in the first of a three-game series with Louisiana-Monroe. Friday night's first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
